SNOWWWWWW.
You guys, it is snowing like crazy out there. Very pretty - also the thickest snowfall I've seen in awhile. It's fun to be on the 9th floor with big picture windows and a good heater right now. Whee!

The expected fall here is 6-8 inches. My parents called my yesterday specifically to tell me the storm was coming and make sure I had food laid in and whatever. (Which I do, hurrah!) Not that it's going to be "The Blizzard of Ought Nine" or anything. But still. 6-8 inches is a good pile of snow.

Knowing this area, it *will* be called the blizzard of ought nine. We are ridiculous about snow.

Have you ever read the Style Invitational in the Washington Post?

There was one where the prompt was jokes that only DC area people would get, and the winner was something like, "How did the terrorist shut down the federal government? He went into a crowded cafeteria and shouted "Snowflake!" "

Oh, that's great. No, I've never read that section, but it sounds fun. :)

Hee! Dogs are lucky because they have natural insulation, too. :)

Well, I do too, actually, now that I'm in DC. It doesn't snow as much here as when I lived further north.

It's snowing here too! Just when it's been getting warmer and I'm ready for spring, we get hit again. XD And the school I work at has already used up all our snow days, so I really hope we don't get too much!

Aw. See I'm ok with it because I'm working at home right now. :) And it's pretty!

P.S. Icon love.

Yay, snow!
We had some snow recently.. about 6 inches (if I converted it right, that is. 15-20 cm) deep, it was totally amazing.
It was very funny, because england had apparently not seen that much snow in about 30 years, so at one point they had to announce that they were running out of road salt. *g* Almost no one bothered to go to work for a few days.

Hah, that's awesome. :)

DC isn't very used to it either, although it's not as bad as some areas of the South, where they're like, "Ack! An inch of snow! EEE."
