Fashion Can Be Funny, Thoughts on House, and Crafts That Make Me Happy

Have I mentioned lately how much I love reading Go Fug Yourself? I hadn't read it for awhile due to being busy with stuff, but I got back on the wagon, so to speak, today, and just laughed and laughed while I read back through recent entries. Heather and Jessica certainly haven't lost their stuff, and continue to deliver hilarious entries bemoaning the lack of fashion sense shown by some of our celebrities. I don't know how they do it every day, but I'm glad they do, because the combination of actually seeing some of the godawful outfits and reading The Fug Girls' commentary on them is just a recipe for laughter. Seriously, if by some chance you've been living under a rock and haven't seen their site, go check it out now. Even if you don't like fashion. I guarantee you will still be amused.

On a completely different topic, I just finally caught up on the last episode of House, and I have to say, much as I can't STAND Cuddy these days (she went from being sassy and snarky and snappily full of personality to being drab and droopily wet washclothy and depressively bang-y just about overnight, didn't she?) I LOVED House in the temporary role of Actual Wronged Person. I mean, Cuddy was being just plain MEAN to him, and him just taking it like that made me feel like we were getting another little glimpse into who House really is (well, one tiny facet, anyway). Also I loved Wilson's indignant, "You're hurting him." Oh, James. Your love for House is so twuuu.

As for the other characters, some people on a forum I'm on were talking about who they like and don't like, and it got me thinking, too. I agree that they should really change some people around. I think it'd work to retain Kutner (I love him! I think they could do a lot more with his backstory, AND he's funny), get Cameron back, but slightly different from her time away from House (bringing a new dynamic), and maybe keep Taub (he's still a bit one-note to me). Or get a new doctor in there. I like Foreman but I feel like he's kind of played his part and should go off and head his own team somewhere, Chase...well, I'd like Chase back but I really don't think it would be logical with all the stuff that's happened between him and House, and he's good in the surgery dept., and Thirteen...I dunno, she's SO bland to me, I've never cared one way of the other about her. And it's not the actress, either, because I liked her in The Black Donnellys (wasn't that her?). So Thirteen really should go.

I still enjoy each show, but I'm slightly underwhelmed right now. I feel like what we need is a return to a bit more of the lightheartedness that was in the earlier seasons. I mean, yes, patients are dying every week, and there's always been drama, but it seems like all of the drama has oozed out of the weekly diagnosis and onto the doctors, instead. I feel like I rarely care much about the patients now, other than how they cause the doctors to react to them and each other. That also makes for me feeling less suspense as to whether House et. al will solve the case. And I guess I want some less predictable interactions between the staff - like for instance, when Wilson was getting divorced, yes, it was sad, but we got House/Wilson pranks out of it; or even something like the "choosing of a new team" stuff. That was fun and fresh for awhile. (Especially Cutthroat Bitch's character - Amber really was a great foil for House *and* Wilson for awhile).

Oh, House, I don't know. I love you so. Please don't keep being slightly less than par!

And in again completely unrelated things, vwlphb sent me pictures of a crafty thing she is working on, and it made me ten kinds of happy. I can't wait to see it all finished!
