Matthew Good's New Album, Vancouver
Comes out October 6, but you can listen to the whole thing until then on his website. So far: It. Is. Awesome.

Am recovering from a cold and too much stress etc. But will be back in more detail soon!

P.S. Got my replacement MG bundle in the mail yesterday. Another shirt, plus the bag and scarf and CD and postcards that were missing before. Yayz! The bag is just the right size/fit and when it gets cold enough I suspect the scarf may be my constant companion - it is soft and cute!

EMILYYYYYYY...I wish you lived closer!! I'm going to a private party after Matt does a talk at the hospital where I used to volunteer, about his struggle with depression, and he's doing a concert and a meet & greet. You should take the day (well, two) off! C'mon up! October 8th! I don't even know if there are any tickets left, because it's so small, but I've heard next to nothing about it, aside from talking to the man himself & then catching up with an old acquaintance who works admin at the hospital...so who knows?? TAKE A VACATION AND GET UP HERE!

OMFG! We could finally meet!!! And I could actually see him at a concert in Canada! (Which I really would like to do one of these days!) Honey, I would be there in a second if I had the money. Where exactly is it (i.e. where would a train go to?) and stuff? If I could somehow beg borrow and steal to get there, could I get in to the show?

Ack! You shouldn't tell me these things, because now I really really want to somehow go. And I know I probably can't afford to. GAH.

I KNOW!!! Um...There's probably an Amtrak that brings you to the border, and then VIA Rail takes you into Toronto (I'm in the 'burbs but not far). The only way to find out if there are still tickets, apparently, is to email Communications@ontarioshores.ca and put "Matt Good - Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences" in the subject line. Ask if they have anything left for the Matthew Good Presentation and Reception. (The guy I know in Admin is now away on holiday for a week, so I have no "in" for info until he's back!) I think they're only, like, $35-40 for the concert AND the talk AND the meet & greet, if I'm not mistaken...so...EMAIL THEM!!! It would be awesome if you could do it!

Alternately, FYI, he's playing a show in Toronto on December 18th at one of my favourite venues; I'm gonna try to get tickets to see him (& hope that I'm up to going - gah?) at that one, too, as I know of some other American friends who are planning a trip up here for that gig. So there are multiple possibilities! And Toronto is GORGEOUS around Christmas...

I emailed them...but sadly, it looks like it costs an awful lot to get there. Hrm. Maybe the Dec. trip is more do-able if I can go at all - by then I might have a job and/or Christmas gift money or something.

Ooh, I wish I were rich. Heh.
