I had the same reaction. Do you know what is up with that? Did he get divorced recently, or has he been divorced, or did something happen to his wife? I looked on wikipedia, but they didn't have anything about it.

He got divorced awhile ago and even mentioned it on his journal at one point. (Fans were asking, and he replied that yes he was, and no it was none of their business, essentially.)

Yeah - since I'd never seen him mention it (I must have missed the divorce entry) I just assumed either his wife just wanted to stay way out of the spotlight (like Terry Pratchett's wife) or that he was divorced or separated and didn't want to talk about it (understandably). For some reason I thought he was still married, but it could have been that I read a really old entry or he mentioned Maddy's mom or something else to give me that impression.

Anyway I'm glad he's found a seemingly nice/cool person to date.

Ah. I've been just scanning his journal for a while now. I think he's perfectly right it's none of our business, but it has to be understandable to wonder when he mentions and has photos out of his dating. Like foresthouse I always thought his wife was just out of the spotlight.

Well, he made the comments about the divorce back in April and he seems to have only just started dating in late May, so I don't think you can link the two statements like that.

No, I meant that as a person who missed the post about getting divorced, I didn't feel so guilty wondering about it when all this stuff about him dating has come out, because I was under the impression he was and had been married, though obviously at the point he was publicly dating he wasn't anymore.
